Oblique Course

One oblique course in life is there's something to get. The search for meaning is the perfect puzzle.

We are completely run by the machinery of our lives. And the machinery wants to get something. It's been ground into us from an early age this all means something, and the way to live a full life is to find meaning. The problem with that is it's we who made up meaning in the first place. Then we forgot we did that, and pretty soon it starts to look like Life itself has essential meaning.

What a way to live!

We are so infused by it, we can't distinguish it anymore. Like Wile E. Coyote who's been fooled by his own traps. He wants Road Runner, we want to grasp life. There's nothing to get, life is life!

video*

You see, life doesn't mean anything, and it doesn't mean anything that it doesn't mean anything. The shock of this revelation comes not from the awareness on whatever we've invested in our personal and intensely private search for meaning. The shock of it comes from the realization of how much time we've wasted on the pointlessness of the search.

As soon as we realize the meaningless of life itself, we can distinguish the meaning we make up from 'nothing to get' as the foundation from which to live a life of choice, instead of the machinery.

So now it is up to you what to choose! Or not, then you will have a 'Oh NO!' moment.

Enjoy your day!

IT IS UNDERSTANDABLE TO MAKE SENSE.

The truth is made up.

Sandy Island (sometimes labelled in French: ÃŽle de Sable) is a non-existent island that was charted for over a century as lying between Australia and New Caledonia in the Coral Sea. Google Maps displayed the island until 26 November 2012, when it was removed. On Google Earth's default view the island area is covered by black pixels, but the program's historical imagery feature has a satellite image of the southern portion taken by DigitalGlobe on 3 March 2009 showing a darkened sea.

BEING IN THE MOMENT

As a rock climber I'm very inspired by other outside sports. Especially sports with a high level of skills and mind controls. Ultimately all these sports are once created by us, to satisfy a certain need to experience life.

Because in the end we experience life as a game. In order to have a game something has to be more important than something else. For example; getting an A is more important than getting a C. Or being a Senior Executive is more important than being a Junior Executive. University is more important than Kindergarten.
The problem with all these games is that we have forgotten that they once were created by us. And now we think that they are for real and we are living our lives that way. Because in every aspect of our lives we are buzzy in getting to a 'higher level' of life. We think that it means growth. Well, growth got nothing to do with adding more skills or knowing more stuff. Growth is the outcome of a process of letting go all the thoughts/feelings/ideas/metaphors that don't serve you now.

So what really matters is what already is. But somehow that's a big deal for us. We just simply cannot be in the moment. Because we are running are lives as donkeys chasing a carrot. Thinking that if we get the carrot our life will be better. So how come something that isn't is more important than what is?
We experience life as a game in which what isn't is more important than what is ;-)

And if we realize it, we immediately create another game. Some of these games we translate in what we called 'extreme sports'. With the greatest stake in games, your life! Just to satisfy our need to experience life in the moment. Nothing wrong with it, it just is.

So what do you do, to feel alive?

"The only force we truly need to resist is gravity. For the rest we can just let go".

I AM I AM

I realize that I am not my emotions or thoughts. I am not my ideas, my intellect, my perceptions, my beliefs. I am not what I do, did or accomplished or achieved. Or hadn't achieved. I am not what I had done right - or what I had done wrong. I am not what I had been labeled - by myself or others. All these identifications cut me off from experience, from living. I am none of the above.

I am simply the space, the creator, the source of all that stuff.

I was, am, and always will be the source of my experience. Experience is simply evidence that I am here. It is not who I am. I am I am.

Point of development

Everyone faces his own challenges in life and what they are is different for every person and point of development.

Point of development is never chronologically or hierarchically arranged, that is an invention of men to adhere a certain status. It is completely value-free and incomparable.

The Law of Attraction is this:

You don't attract what you want. You attract what YOU ARE - who you are BEING.

"The world is a great mirror. It reflects back to you what you are. If you are loving, if you are friendly, if you are helpful, the world will prove to be loving and friendly and helpful in return. The world is what you are." - Thomas Dreier.

In other words, you don’t merely attract those things that you hope or wish for; you attract the people and circumstances that match how you’re operating and showing up in the world. Most of us chase after things and few of us naturally attract the good stuff that we truly desire until we start living a life that feels most appealing to us, and until we start being more like the things we want to attract. For example, if you want more happy experiences to come around, be happy. If you want to encounter more kindness from people, be kind first. If you want more respect from others, be respectful.

Fall in love with your life and you will be attractive to others. And the more attractive you become, still others won’t be on the same page and will resist your happiness, but that’s okay too. They’re just not there yet.

It’s a mistake to think your life has to be problem free before you can feel happy and peaceful. The opposite is actually true. First you work toward joy and serenity and then your life challenges lessen and disappear. Most say, “When I reach my goals, I will be joyful.” But you must be joyful first. You must start with the determination that you will settle for nothing less than feeling good. And when you first seek joy, all else that is good follows. It’s not the other way around. You can feel joyful or serene even in the midst of turmoil.

Principle of Joy - When you feel good, you attract and manifest even more good. Joy is very attractive.

Tips: Radiate joy from the inside out. Let yourself feel good no matter what is happening around you. Allow yourself to sparkle and shine.

Question: Have you taken your life too seriously? How will you let yourself have fun again?

Affirm:  “I am joyful now.”

Let this simple affirmation travel from your head to your heart – which can sometimes be a very long distance. It may take a little practice, because you must allow yourself to feel it too!

Try This: Try taking just a few minutes to be fully present with someone today and share a moment of joy with them. Smile more often and find at least one person to laugh with --see what happens.

And you know what, it's FUN to share your JOY!

The reality of your experience is that your experience confirms your reality.

Once we have acquired some understanding about the difference, we should keep that in mind and see how we usually relate to the world and to others - how people, our environment and ourselves occur to us.

We believe there is something that exists independently and objectively. But things are not how they appear to us. So how do they exist? We can only conclude that we can understand their existence and their identity only in terms of interdependence: something that arises from an interaction with other factors, and depending on other factors, and labels we stick on reality. In other words: we create reality.

Things are just what they are, they just are. Here, there and everywhere. By giving things a meaning, creating words for them, they come into existence.

Just for a moment, ...forget your view about the world.... And start to relate to yourself as being the world. Not in the sense of you being literally the world itself, but the world exist because you can experience the world...

Without you, there would be no you, there would be no world, there would be no love.

You are here because you are here. Take good care of it...

The Time Is Now

Time plays tricks on you
One day you're dreaming
The next your dream has become your reality
Having the best of times when playing full out?
If only someone had told me
I don't know how I got here, but here I am
The clock is ticking, the time is now
Love it, no matter what.

Vertical Dance

As some of you may know, one of my passions is rock climbing. This poem is an ode to that passion and my experience of it. Enjoy!

Vertical Dance

When I'm dancing I notice gravity pulling on my body
When I'm dancing I become weightless to my thoughts by letting them go
When I'm dancing my head is clear
When I'm dancing I no longer experience fear
when I'm dancing I feel free
When I'm dancing touching the ground isn't an option
When I'm dancing my feet are placed very carefully up in the air
When I'm dancing my legs push me up
When I'm dancing I'm moving my body in all directions
When I'm dancing my heartbeat gives me the rhythm to move on
When I'm dancing I don't close my eyes
When I'm dancing I'm fully present of what is
When I'm dancing I forget the world around me
When I'm dancing my arms hold me close
When I'm dancing my hands guide me to the next move
When I'm dancing there's nothing more to say
When I'm dancing I'm on my own
When I'm dancing I feel happy
When I'm dancing I feel complete
When I'm dancing I feel alive
When I'm dancing the rocks are the ones I hold on to
When I'm dancing letting go of the rocks will end this feeling of aliveness
When I'm dancing I'm climbing
Because climbing is for me a vertical dance.

Probable Almost Certain Future

I want to introduce the idea of The Probable Almost Certain Future. Most people tend to repeat the same situations in their lives over and over again. They date the same kind of person. They find the same kind of job. They always have the same problems. This is the basic meaning of The Probable Almost Certain Future. The Probable Almost Certain Future is the continuation of the way things currently are.

Along your path of personal growth, you will want to examine your Probable Almost Certain Future. You can look at different areas of your life such as relationships, money, family and career. If you continue down the same path that you have been living/doing/being, what is the Probable Almost Certain Future for each of those areas? If you’re like most people, your Probable Almost Certain Future isn’t much different from the life that you are living at this very moment.

A Probable – Almost Certain – Future is exactly like it sounds. It is a future that is probably, almost certainly going to be a particular way, if we don’t somehow intervene and change it. So for example: if I eat too much fatty foods and chocolate, I will probably, almost certainly get fat, overweight and be very unhealthy. So in order to change my probable almost certain future I must do something completely different, i.e. eat healthily and exercise 2 or 3 times a week. I am not definitely going to be unhealthy but I probably will, if I keep doing the same things as I have always done.

Once you have acknowledged your Probable Almost Certain Future, then you can begin to do something about it. In order to alter your Probable Almost Certain Future, you need to make a drastic change. If you have a poor relationship with your Mother and you want to change your Probable Almost Certain Future around that relationship, you are going to have to acknowledge what you have been doing that has not been working for that relationship.

It is important that you acknowledge where you are at fault – This is not about where the other person has been wrong. If you approach the situation looking to place blame on the other person, you are going to come out worse than you went in. This isn’t about proving that you are right. This is about accepting responsibility for who you are being and owning your actions.

To alter your Probable Almost Certain Future you have to look for what is missing (in a way of being) the presence of which would make a difference! You need to recreate your present being to alter your future being.

Who do you want to be? Which way of being inspired you to be?

By recreating (reinventing) your way of being, you have the power to transform every aspect of your life remaining unfulfilled!

And if you can't figure it out by yourself, ask for coaching :-)

The future isn't a place where you go, it is a place that you create!

Life is like photography, we use the negatives to develop.

So that's why I have a digital camera, to experience life the way life is.

Give up control

You create your life. And the one problem with creating something is that immediately after you created you become the effect of it. You got to give up control.

You have ultimate control in that you are allowed to create things. And even after that you have ultimate control in that you are allowed to create the space in which they exists. And even after that you have ultimate control in that you can recreate them to make them disappear. But during that little process you are completely out of control. And the only way to regain control when you are out of control is to be out of control.

It's like body-rafting in a fast streaming river. If you resist the water you will hit a rock, but if you go with the water (be out of control) you go around the rocks. Because water can't go through rocks. So the water is your life and you are in it and you create it! ...And if you still resist the water and hit a rock you will be out of control, ...but that's because the rock knocks you out ;-)

What you resist is what you become.

Do not believe the Truth... ;-)

Do not believe anything you hear in here!

Why?  Because truth is an experience and should never be believed. The truth believed is a lie.

You don't believe in a screwdriver. If you need one, you pick one up and you use it. And if it breaks you get another one.

So you have to know the difference. You have to be able to tell them apart. You have to be willing to separate that which you experience from that which you believe. Just take a minute and a deep breath, because when you start noticing the difference, you also will notice for having them glued together in the past. And that had a huge impact on your life and on others' lives.

Your truth is different than mine, and that is WONDERFUL.

The reason why there is conflict and war is because people start believing their truth...

And when you start believing it, you start living it... And when you start living it, it becomes your reality, your view, your world...

By the time when you see the world around you as real, you kind of forget that it started with an experience.

Your experience!

...But that is really hard to realize when you are on top of your game..

...Let the good times roll...

Seeing is believing! Or not...?

In a conversation with my other brother last night, he was saying: "Actions speak louder than words". This was a reply to mine insight, I shared just seconds before, about if a good friend of us would be able to overcome a certain fear. I shared that I had noticed and witnessed the process of that friend in trying to overcome that fear. Empowered by a lot of conversations with this friend about her fear. My believe is that she is able let go of her fear! Despite my believe in what I see possible for her, my brother is havening a different view. No offense, that is what brothers do ;-)

The whole conversation gave me the idea to use it as an example to make the next distinction... Btw, the rest of this essay got nothing to do with my brother.

So the philosophy behind 'actions speak louder than words' is that whatever people say they will do, they just need to do it and then we will believe it, right? What they do is more important than what they say. So first we want to see it and then we will believe it. Seeing is believing!
Well, this is not an empowering context to live from. Actually it's a very lazy-not-getting-off-your-couch-convince-me context. It's like sitting on the stand looking and waiting until something happened. And if something happened, you think that it's not good enough, or you are not convinced, or you don't take it for granted. In this space you are not being responsible for what happened.  ...You are on the stand, wearing the same glasses... Which is btw the perfect place to shout your comments...

Ask yourself, how much evidence do you want until you are going to see what is really happening?

So talking about 'seeing is believing', what is it what you see when you start to believe?

...Think about it for a moment...

The only thing you see is what you believe as truth or possible. Well, talking about truth,  the truth believed is a lie. Truth is an experience and is different for each and every one of us. Living your life from seeing is believing will get you only more of the same. Because your experience about the truth is coming from your past. Nothing new shows up. It's like a rat in a race. Living your past believes over and over again.  You can look into your future but only through your rear-view mirror. ...You are not present in the moment...
And another thing strikes me when living life from seeing is believing, there is no space for possibility. There is no freedom... It is a disempowering context to live from... You are not causing the matter.

The moment you start to realize that seeing is believing is nothing more than a constrain from your past, you can transform that point of view into a empowering context. Into a context coming from possibility!

Shifting seeing is believing into believing is seeing, will provide a powerful realm of opportunity. It works from the inside out. Living from believing is seeing creates you as being causing the matter. You are no longer the effect of it (not on the stand, but in the field). Now you have the ability to move the event/situation/something forward. Believing is seeing demands you to be present in the moment and to be generous. But above all, it demands you to be yourself!!! To be totally free from your constrains of the past. Be letting them go, you see the beauty in each and every one of us. You see the power and courage you have to deal with every situation in your life! To encourage and empower others in their game of life. ...The box is gone...

However, when believing is seeing shifts back to seeing is believing, which will happen. ...Because you are human... But now you have the tool to shift it back... Or not.

Enjoy your day!

Angst

EREN = LIEF

So today on my way to the supermarket I saw these words on the floor of the primary school plaza next to my home, 'Eren is dom', which means Eren is stupid. I thought to myself, did I ever have done the same in my primary school period, probably yes. Then it strikes me, what will Eren feel when reading these words? I did not get a good feeling, in fact I was getting a horrible feeling. So when I got back from my shopping's, I changed the text in 'Eren is lief', which means Eren is sweet.

Feeling better!

We all want to feel better in life, right? So why don't we feel better? Just feel better!

You see, this is not an interesting game. It's too easy. We like to play a different game: We can only feel better if we first get ourselves in to problems, then solve/overcome those problems and then we can feel better.
Well that's an interesting game to play.... It keeps you going... You know what, when you finish one game, just create another one... It keeps you going... But it's keeping you NOT going to fulfill your life in any way.

It's keeping you far from fulfilling your life! But that doesn't matter, because it's keeping you going... and then you die!

Maybe, just before you die, you will have a realization of the outcome of your final game, that it's going to end soon. So you decide to let go of the game, to find some inner peace... just to feel better!?!?!? Well, that sucks!

Let's play a new game, right now: If you want to feel better, just feel better. If you don't, just don't. And stop complaining about your problems, they just exists because you are keeping them alive!

Well that's feeling better! Can you feel it?

HOME

Some people believe that 'In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth'. Other people believe that if they buy some forest, that they could decrease their own CO2 emissions. I respect those believes. They are not my point of views and certainly not my believe systems.

But truth of the matter is that we all live on the same planet. It's our Home. It's also the home of millions of other species and forms of life.

If we truly want this beautiful planet to be beautiful in the future, we need to be able to let go of the things/feelings/emotions/believes that don't 'serve' us anymore, to be able to move on as one! To let the planet flourish in all his glory, which btw is a powerful context for human beings as well. Choose to live a life worth living it. Now it's time to leave the era of tolerance behind us, and to move forwards to the era of appreciation.

It's us, no one else!

Yann Arthus Bertrand made a wonderful film. By bringing us unique footage from fifty countries, all seen from the air, by sharing with us his wonder and concern, he lays a foundation stone for the edifice that, together, we must rebuild.

Fear

Fear doesn't rule me. I don't suppress or ignore fear. The way I handle fear is by being afraid.

Because we regard fear as something we have to deal with, we don't just let it be so it becomes empowered to stop us. The appropriate way to deal with fear is to be with it, to choose to experience it, and to be afraid.

You let fear be and it lets you be.

The Language of Color

Combining text and color can be very powerful and very confusing. To illustrate the point, look at the lines of colored text below. Try to say the color of the letters of each word without reading the word.

YELLOW BLUE ORANGE

BLACK RED GREEN

PURPLE YELLOW RED

ORANGE GREEN BLACK

BLUE RED PURPLE

GREEN BLUE ORANGE

Left – Right Conflict

Your right brain tries to say the color but

Your left brain insists on reading the word.
